Differences between feeder and surge bin

  • Feeders are a large bin with a conveyor that are designed to run continuously. They are typically fed with a loader or excavator.
  • Surge bins have a similar design but are built to stop and start the conveyor under load. Typically used to load trucks.

  • Hydraulic drive allowing for adjustable belt speeds to meet the needs of the machine being fed
  • Single Stage (one conveyor) and Two-Stage (one conveyor feeding a second conveyor) options available.
  • Wheel and skid units available.
  • Most common sizes are 12 Yard and 15 Yard but custom sizes are available
